2. Research the areas they champions and find one you support. What is it and why do you also support it? U.S Congressman Scott Desjarlais, he represents the 4th District of Tennessee. He focuses a lot on the importance of healthcare, employment, and labor.
3. Find an issue one of your Senators or Congressman champions that you disagree with. Why do you disagree? I would have to say Steven Cohen, after doing some research, Memphis is one of the poorest places in the Nation, not just within Tennessee, so obliviously someone isn't doing their job as well as they should.

Great job, I agree the Scott does a great job with helping Tenessee as much as possible, as for Memphis, that doesn't surprise me because it is overcrowded which can lead to low medical supplies for everyone, and drugs are pretty much the only money source around.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that healthcare, employement annd labor are among the most important issues right now. That's great to hear that some one is actually looking into those issue instead of just talking about.
ReplyDeleteMemphis, Tn is a city that needs great amounts of reform. It has taken decades to get that place cleaned up and on the right track. I agree with you that Mr. Cohen should probably step up and try to get it back on track. Great Comments.
You were very thorough as to who represents us in Tennessee. It is also good to see someone in our corner fighting for healthcare, employment, and labor. These are definitely important issues and have been for quite some time. I find it hard to see a common ground in the future simply because the differences in political parties, beliefs, and opinions when it comes to who should offer the healthcare, which income bracket should get taxed, and who should be allowed on unemployment. Memphis is a rough place, but we can’t only leave it up to those who represent us. We also have to place an amount of blame on those who live there or around there who do not respect the area enough to take care of it, help get it back to where it should be, and who value it as they should.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Memphis is a poor place because of our representatives. I've been there many times and the people there act completely different than the people here in East Tennessee. They seem to care less about their environment and they, no offense to the people who are from Memphis, are ruder. I think our congressmen are doing an excellent job in Washington DC. In regards to your answer to question number 2, I think it's great that he focuses on employment. I think it's a very important issue in America that needs more attention. Good responses!
ReplyDeleteI agree that education is very important and that our government should focus more on it. I also researched Rep Desjarlais and did find that he strongly supports education reform and has some very good ideas about how and what to reform in the education system.
ReplyDeleteI think that employment, labor, and healthcare are very important. Employment and labor are the building blocks of our economy. Without these our country can't function. So I agree that these are the most important issues to address. I'm not sure that I agree about the reason that Memphis is poor is due to our congressman. I do not know much about Memphis but it could be because their economy is struggling, there's not much business, or something within that community is going wrong.
