Chapter 9

1. Which political party do you most identify with?  Why?  Are there things in the party platform with which you disagree? When it comes to political parties I identify myself with the Republican side.  The Republicans share the same morals as I do. I don’t believe in same-sex marriage, also this whole Obama care has really turned me against the Democrats.

2. Does America need political parties?  The founders originally hoped that American politics would operate without need of parties?  Would that work today?  Why? I think we do need political parties. We’re not going to agree on the same the subjects. I think political parties are a good way to get together and show what they stand for and how help others understand what’s going on.

3. Please research lesser known political parties - which one do you most identify with?  Why? Independent political party, because they believe in some of what the Republicans believe in and some of what the Democrats believe in.

  1. I enjoyed your blog. It's nice to know there's someone else on the Republican side when forced to choose. I also like how you brought up the Obama Healthcare issue. I despise the idea and while I am apparently ineligible for any other healthcare I am STILL ineligible for that one as well. It honestly makes no sense. I also agree with you on the need for political parties. It is a way for citizens to stand together on issues that they deem important in their life and their values.

  2. I agree I am a repubican as well. I have very conservatibe belifs and I do not understand why everyone is so in love with Obama and his health care program but thats for another time. Im kinda on the fence about whether there should be political parties but I agree with what you said, If I have opinions I would like to share them with other people who have the same thoughts and beliefs.

  3. I agree with you about the Obama Care. It has also turned me against the Democrats. I still feel that both sides have good and bad. This is why i feel that we shouldnt have political partys. However i do like what you said about how political partys are a good way together and show what they sand for.

  4. I also don't like this whole Obamacare thing. In my opinion, it should be renamed to "accessible healthcare" because it's not very affordable! I like the independent political party too because I am the same way. I like some of the Republican ideas and also some of the Democrats.

  5. My parent are republicans, so I do tend to lean that way. I feel as I get older though I really listen to each candidate and pick which I believe to be the best one. I personally feel like am suck in the middle of the two parties. Like I don't agree with same-sex marriage, but I don't think we are to say "no they can't get married." I don't feel like its our place to do that.

  6. I basically agree with your views on issues. I also tend to agree with republicans. I'm completely against Obamacare, it's definitely not helping me in the healthcare department. I disagree about same-sex marriage. In my opinion, I don't feel that it's right to tell people who they can love and marry. It obviously doesn't hurt anyone to allow it but it does when we try to ban it. I like the independent party too since it has aspects of both.
